Kwanzaa Crawl

by

Hey NYC, come out and celebrate black community, family, and culture. The Largest Bar Crawl For Black Businesses in NYC for one day.

The 4rd annual Kwanzaa Crawl will be on the first day of Kwanzaa, Wednesday, December 26, 2019, in BROOKLYN and HARLEM where over 4,000 people of the African Diaspora will join together to support 30 Black-owned bars and restaurants in their neighborhood. Crawlers are going to be dressed in whatever makes them feel Black and beautiful for a day of UNITY, FELLOWSHIP and FUN! Each bar will have about 300 – 600 people throughout the day with rotating
groups of 75 – 125, at one time. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Barbershop Books, a nonprofit organization that creates reading spaces in barbershops to promote literacy among young Black boys. Past participants reported earnings of $3,000 – $10,000, with variance based on venue size.

The sold-out inaugural Crawl, included over 1,600 participants across 17 Black-owned businesses in Brooklyn. Last year, the event was also sold out and expanded to include over 3,000 participants and 28 bars and restaurants in Brooklyn and Harlem with proceeds donated to social justice organizations Barbershop Books and The Blk Projek.
