We had the pleasure of attending the New York City Wine Fest and we were super excited by all the energy upon arrival. Every vendor was set up and ready to keep pouring and pouring. There was unlimited access to some of the most popular brands of wine along with a few other spirits. One of my favorite was Coole Swan. a delicious tasting cream liqueur. This single malt Irish whiskey is blended with real white Belgian chocolate and fresh, natural dairy cream. It isn't wine but for me it was delicious and i had the opportunity to return to this booth several times, that's how much i enjoyed it. The entire room was so energetic with people playing giant jenga, scrabble and simply networking and enjoying the moment. It was such a comfortable and tasteful event, and we will be looking forward to it next year.
We have so many great things to say about The Sex Expo we could write a book. That's how amazing this hidden gem is! We truly had no idea what to expect since this was our first year in attendance and will definitely not be our last. The Sex Expo has literally something for all adults. Each station the vendors were so pleasant, friendly and comfortable talking about each product displayed. I was truly touched by Carly S, sex educator from dildoordildont.wordpress.com. She was a speaker on Advanced Blowjobs sponsored by Pleasure Chest, this class was so very classy, informative and jam backed, it blew my mind away. There were seminars on every topic that you could possibly think of. I was so excited to be in the presence of all the positive energy and like minded individuals who were eager to get such great information on bettering and enhancing their sex life. I would also like to give a special thanks to The Sex Expo for such an awesome gift bag! We really will enjoy each and every product in it and there was quite a few :-). Thanks Lauren Kaufman from Manifest.
This is some of the details from Day 1 of the Tribeca TV Festival in NYC honoring Law & Order's SVU 20th Anniversary & Screening. The Tribeca TV Festival is proud to pay tribute to two decades of this iconic and impactful New York City fan-favorite with an exclusive preview screening of the 20th season premiere and a conversation with those both in front of and behind the camera who have made SVU the institution it is today. Details sent to us by Tribeca Tv Festival : Creator and Executive Producer Dick Wolf called star and Executive Producer Mariska Hargitay the “grandmother of the #MeToo Movement” which got vigorous applause. “Ain’t no grandmother wearing these shoes,” Mariska joked, showing off her stilettos to the crowd. Mariska also spoke about her initial involvement with the series saying “It’s so unprecedented to be on a show that’s gone twenty years, even though Dick’s done it twice.” When reading the script for the first time, Mariska loved how progressive and brave it was. She learned how important talking about these issues are for society. “It’s a topic that has been swept under the carpet and has brought the victims so much shame, to bring these stories to the water cooler has been a privilege and a gift,” Mariska said. Ice T laughed saying “Dick called me and asked me to do four episodes… now it’s been twenty years.”Moderator Savannah Sellers (NBC News Correspondent), asked Mariska who inspires the character Olivia Benson. Mariska responded with, “I think Olivia Benson is an amalgamation of my strong female friends. There are so many women I admire and look up to and I try to grab pieces of those and also that part of me that is a fierce badass lioness.”When speaking about the impact the show has had over the years, Mariska touched on how Law & Order: SVU is the ideal version of how sexual assault victims should be received in the world. “Victims are believed. The stories have always been there. The stats are the same. The stories are just in the news now.”
This years Whisky Extravaganza was Spectacular! This event was so well organized with such pleasant staff and volunteers. There were about 30 booths of vendors with some of the best dram you could taste. The vendors were pleasantly waiting and pouring as much spirits as you would love to taste. There were seminars given on how these barreled spirits come to you at your local distributors. We were so glad to be a part of this extravaganza, brands like Dead Rabbit, Glen Moray and much more were there making up cocktails and the catering of the food was delicious. So many whiskey lovers all in one room ready to enjoy their favorite brands. You were given a monogrammed glass and a token to redeem our cigar at the cigar station. This Whisky Extravaganza was such a true delight!
The 14th Annual Vendy Awards was such a treat literally. There were about 25 food vendor trucks from all over the five boroughs for everyone to enjoy and place their votes based on five categories. Best Breakfast, Rookie of the Year, Best of Market and Best Dessert and the Ultimate Grand Prize-Vendy Cup Award. The Co-Director Mohamed Attia, of the Street Vendor Project made everyone feel welcomed and involved with the entire process and informed us on how and why the Street Vendor Project is so necessary. These food truck vendors work so hard on a daily basis for people like us and have to fight the system daily. I truly enjoyed two of the most amazing food trucks at this event and they won in their specific categories. D'ABRUZZO, known for his tender lamb skewers with a homemade spicy oil, tender, seasoned and delicious won Best Market. The Vendy Award went to this amazing couple who have been in business for over 10 yrs, Royal Grill Halal Food. When i took a plate of Chicken Tikka Masala and walked away, after eating the entire dish i had to return to his cart and let him know how much i enjoyed his dish and his face lit up in joy. This celebration each year is certainly an accolades to all their hard work yearly. Congrats to all winners.
The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence hosted their annual Bear Awards in honor of Jim “Bear” Brady in NYC on October 1st, 2018, an evening that celebrated champions and real heroes in the gun violence prevention space. Reflecting on one year after the Las Vegas massacre, the evening was inspiring, uplifting, and left guests feeling charged to create change. A highlight of the evening was the live auction which featured items such as a set visit and meet and greet to MADAM SECRETARY generously donated by TEA LEONI, an ERIC CLAPTON experience at Madison Square Garden and tickets to The Golden Globe Awards official after party. Amid the auction, BRYAN CRANSTON surprised both guests and Christie’s auctioneer ROBBIE GORDY by jumping on stage to offer two tickets to opening night of NETWORK, his new Broadway play opening this fall. The winner will enjoy two tickets, a backstage meet and greet, and access to the after party on December 6th. After one guest rounded out the bidding at $11,000, which according to Bryan were tickets earmarked for his agents, he surprised the crowd again by offering a second pair for a matching bid, thus taking seats away from their “mooching relatives,” according to his wife who shouted from Table 8. (We had the honors of receiving this information and write up from Sunshine Sachs) Thanks so much! Photo Credit: Bryan Bedder for Getty Images on behalf of Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
We were truly delighted to attend the House of Peroni NYC Event. The event space was truly decked out in green and white with beautiful lounge seats for you to sit back and take it all in. Each time we taste this brand we are never disappointed. The music was vibrant and the view was to die for of the NYC skyline looking into New Jersey. There was a Glass Garden Lost & Found from Orto Botanico Di Padova(1545) incorporated into this event. The world's oldest academic medicinal garden: Taste Of Nectar. Representing the original purpose of the Botanical Garden, and where legend has it the Medici's concocted medicines and potions, artist Maayan Zilberman offers guests a chance to exchange a Roman Chamomile blossom, representing a manifestation of communal healing and growth, for a gold-infused oleander-inspired edible piece, symbolizing the darker side of the Garden: knowledge and awakening, a polar opposite. Maayan offers each guest a chance to become one with the theme of the exhibition, exchanging a piece of organic material with an edible piece. Each participant helps the edible and floral installation come to life.
Margaret Mead Film Festival this year honors her legacy by connecting us with communities around the world through actions of others who refused to give up. This years festival at American Museum of Natural History ran from October 18th-21st. Opening night all attendees had the pleasure of screening the premiere of "Stolen Daughters" by Directors Karen Edwards and Gemme Atwl an HBO Documentary. This film gave you a direct look on how girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram (a terrorist group) escaped from imprisonment and restructured their lives. There were so many films that shed light on how resilient we all are. Opening night was also about networking and connecting with others "all about film". At the closing night ceremony The Margaret Mead Filmmaker Award was given to Christy Garland, the director of What Walaa Wants, this film was inspiring, a girl being raised in a refugee camp by her siblings while her mother was in prison and overcoming some of the constant challenges of growing up as a female in the Palestinian Security Forces. A big thank you to Manager of Media Relations, Michael Walker for an opportunity to understand what the Margaret Mead Film Festival is truly all about. We were delighted to have access to Q&A's of some talented and gifted film makers and directors. Looking forward to next year.
This year's NYC LG Business Solutions TechTour event was held at Metropolitan West. This event gave us exclusive access to the latest commercial display, solar and mobile technologies. There was one thing that stood out the most for us and it was their moving robot Choli. You could control her with a gaming remote, take photos with a background displayed of various locations in NYC. She had a giant LG phone display attached to her which displayed the agenda for the event whcig im quite sure could be programmed as desired. Choli, is a clear example of how innovation through technology is evolving tremendously. The evening event was a night to remember with a DJ Carol C performance, mobile oyster bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and a lot of networking. Thanks LG #LGontheroad
This Future of the Cocktails Event, was exactly that and more! On Friday November 2nd, 2018 Industry City was the highlight of Brooklyn, with mixologist from all over NYC mixing some of the most delicious cocktails . This Belvedere sponsored event was packed with numerous Cocktails Stations to choose from, Hors d'oeuvre and an Oyster Station. There were hostesses walking around to accommodate everyone. My favorite cocktail of the evening was the Muir Glen, that spicy mezcal taste had me hooked. We were so delighted and grateful to be here thanks to Food Loves Tech.
Taste Of Times Square 2018 is a yearly event in the heart of NYC. This event is packed with restaurants from all five boroughs of New York City offering guest a taste of delicious finger foods from their restaurants for as low as one dollar. You can stroll down a few block radius and enjoy some of the best restaurants in NYC all in one location for several hours. There was live music, entertainment and activities to get involved in. I personally could not stop eating and wanted to taste everything that was out there. Hard Rock Cafe's grilled burgers they were to die for! Juniors Cheesecake handed out slices that were simply mouth watering and this ultimately became everyone's hangout spot. Thanks #TimesSQEats
AVP Volleyball Tournament NYC 2018 was held at Pier 26 this year. This was our first time attending and we truly turned into super fans of this sport and the players that were involved. The men and woman in this tournament really go hard for the championship. We watched Brittany Hochevar and Kelly Claes play and they kicked butt. These two athletes hit the court and its teamwork to the fullest extent. This event was electrifying! Even though we were in Tribeca NYC, we felt like we were in the heart of California on the sunny beach with lots of sand and a roaring crowd. The vendors were amazing with games, free giveaways and The Jumpman Zone topped if off. Thanks #AVPBEACH
