When entering you were greeted by such wonderful staff and given a glass with Toast of Brooklyn emblem printed on it as a souvenir . You could smell the food that was being prepped by the special invited Chefs. We had the pleasure of meeting one of them, Celebrity Chef W Simpson. Speaking with Chef Simpson he informed us of how his two delicious dishes became about. He blessed us with the great flavors of his Jerk Escovitch Fish on a Taco with sauteed veggies and a lovely garnish. Chef Simpson's second treat was Pulled Jerk Chicken on a Taco with a savory sauce and a lemon twist, simply mouth watering. It was a true honor to attend the legacy celebration event of Ol' Dirty Bastard. This honor was well deserved and was given by his friends, family and loved one. True fans had the honor to remember his legacy through songs that resonated in the crowd. Wu Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Master Killah had the crowd singing to every beat of his lyrics. Young Dirty Bastard, a true image of his father had the crowd in an uproar with his hard and raw lyrics just like Ol Dirty Bastard. There were special performances by up and coming artists. Ol Dirty Bastards immediate family let everyone in attendance know how much they truly appreciated this joyous event and was honored. We would like to personally thank his family for allowing us to be there and celebrating with them.
Opening Night at PhovilleNYC was illuminating, despite the rainy weather. Everyone in attendance refused to let mother nature rain on our parade"literally". We were able to get a first hand look at over 60+ shipping containers filled with portraits of this years line up of amazing artistry. There were so much that stood out for us, it would take us all day to name them all. I was truly moved by "The Power Of Pink" The Las Fatos Project, which is a Lower Eastside Girls Club. The portraits that were taken gives you a true insight on how much girl power can truly inspire other woman. In this container, there was pink everywhere, it would make anyone smile. Another container that we have to mention is " The Project Show". This container was filled with celebrity portraits of themselves, being themselves. We had the pleasure of attending NYBG's 27th Annual Holiday Train Show Press Preview . We were super exited to see the enchanting model trains with 175 New York landmarks re-created with bark, leaves and a numerous amounts of natural materials, it was simply illuminating. Each replica was made to make you feel like you were actually right in front of the landmark itself. The glow, the details, everything was spot on. You will see replica's of Lower Manhattan, The Statue of Liberty, One World Trade and The Oculus, just to name a few. This tradition has been going on for 27 generations, created by Paul Busse. We were accompanied by Laura Busse, the daughter of Paul Busse whom was willing to answer any questions we may have. These model trains, trolleys and ferries will take you through nearly half a mile long track of iconic sites passing through NYC. You will see rustic bridges, fruits, seeds, waterfalls and streetcars. A true feel of what it's like to be a New Yorker. We noticed the details on some of the train that will blow you away. The inscriptions on the trains were so defined to detail when replicating the railroad companies and their cargo. The Holiday Train Show begins on November 17th - January 21st, 2019. You must also visit Bar Car Nights with some of the best mixologist and vendors including Bronx Night Market Holiday Pop-Up, live ice sculpting demos, singing, a cafe, a fire pit and much more starting November 17th .
