Beer Bourbon & BBQ 2018 was held this year at The Tunnel in NYC. There were food, bourbon and beer vendors from all over. You were given a glass upon entrance to taste as much bourbon and beer your heart desired. There were also a few events during the day that truly stood out for us, the roasting of a whole entire pig was a true experience like no other. You could smell the pig roasting from a mile away. During the event Handsome Devil Restaurant from Newburgh NY was busy roasting the pig to bring out for tasting. When they rolled it out everyone was in awe. It was golden brown and crisp. Everyone was lined up to get the best piece they could while it was still smoking hot, crisp and tender.
Hennessy Cocktail Making Class with Mixologist Masa Urushido @Williams Sonoma was a hit. This was the first class of many with the Cocktail Courier and Hennessy at Williams Sonoma. The cocktails were breath taking and seemed so simple to make in your own home. I had the pleasure of meeting Masa Urushido personally, very poised, friendly and approachable. After the cocktail class each guests were given a shot of aged Hennessy to finish this class off with a bang. Thanks Williams Sonoma!

This two floor expo was jammed packed with chefs, panel speakers and vendor and from all over and non stop action. There was an Innovators Circle Lounge for food and beverage industry professionals and entrepreneurs to gather and network. We literally tried to taste everything in sight and we were truly inspired by the way food is being taken to such a level of production and has become so much healthier for our bodies. Thank you to all the sponsors, Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan for making this expo possible. We are looking forward to next year!
NY Cocktail Expo 2018 was one of the best cocktail event of the summer. This event was held at the amazing Melrose Ballroom in Astoria Queens. Upon arrival cocktails were being poured and awaiting. No doubt in our mind all brands of liquor were in attendance. There were three levels in this amazing venue that filled up quickly. The Cocktails were exceptional, well thought out and refreshing. Each floor was filled with cocktail tastings, spirit tastings, beer & cider tastings and the new rum room! Congrats to Paradise Lounge and @plantation.rum, they won the judges over for the Tiki Takedown competition with the smoking treasure chest. We once again must say this event was the best cocktail event of the summer. Thanks New York Cocktail Expo!
The Art of the Mix (formerly known as battle of the bars) was a competition for 12 finalist to compete for the Best Cocktail, along with a Battle of the Best DJ. The entire night, guests were able to taste and vote on who they thought was simply the best when it came to making the ultimate cocktail that would give them an ever-lasting impression. All night the DJ's played hit songs that if you were there you had no other choice but to dance and sing along. This Jack Daniels sponsored event had everyone tasting, networking and celebrating with anticipation on who would be the winner. Thanks to the two host of the night Karl Williams and Michael Mcconnell this event was a true hit. The battle of the DJ's was led by DJ CEO who is known for moving people through his music. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming the entire night. The house was packed and we truly appreciate all the hospitality we received and cant wait to see whats in store next year! Thanks #solomonandkuff #harlemparktopark #theartofthemix
The Big Chocolate Show is the perfect name for this event! There was chocolate everywhere. This is our second year attending and each year we try to eat as much chocolate as possible. This years event was held at The New Yorker, A Wyndham Hotel in Herald Square. Each year brands from all over participate and showcase their specialty chocolate. There was Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate with Nuts, Chocolate Pretzels and more. We truly enjoyed brands like, Snacking Chocolate with Quinoa, Effies, Shirley Delicious Confections and a multitude of others. There were also classes set up for pairings of chocolates with cocktails, seminars and lollipop making. Each class was filled with a bunch of excited chocolate lovers ready and eager to learn and taste. In the 21+ Lounge on the upper level there were spirit tasting from Montanya Rum, Gubba Rum and The Cocktail Guru making cocktails. The Cocktail Guru made a delicious Fall Punch with Don Q Rum, puree cranberry and lemon cider that made you feel like you were somewhere laying on the beach. It was truly such a refreshing drink. Thanks so much to all the staff at The Big Chocolate Show and your volunteers, our experience once again was such a delight. Thanks!!

The 14th Annual Vendy Awards was such a treat literally. There were about 25 food vendor trucks from all over the five boroughs for everyone to enjoy and place their votes based on five categories. Best Breakfast, Rookie of the Year, Best of Market and Best Dessert and the Ultimate Grand Prize-Vendy Cup Award. The Co-Director Mohamed Attia, of the Street Vendor Project made everyone feel welcomed and involved with the entire process and informed us on how and why the Street Vendor Project is so necessary. These food truck vendors work so hard on a daily basis for people like us and have to fight the system daily. I truly enjoyed two of the most amazing food trucks at this event and they won in their specific categories. D'ABRUZZO, known for his tender lamb skewers with a homemade spicy oil, tender, seasoned and delicious won Best Market. The Vendy Award went to this amazing couple who have been in business for over 10 yrs, Royal Grill Halal Food. When i took a plate of Chicken Tikka Masala and walked away, after eating the entire dish i had to return to his cart and let him know how much i enjoyed his dish and his face lit up in joy. This celebration each year is certainly an accolades to all their hard work yearly. Congrats to all winners.

Art Of La Soiree Cointreau Event NYC is a spectacular tasting of Cointreau French Orange Liqueur that is used to be blended with a variety of spirits. This event was held in Hell Kitchen and we truly enjoyed the ambiance that was setup in the room. The sponsors had a fully decked out long length table for a guest of maybe 15 at a time to dine together on hors d'oeuvre and a small dinner with an open bar throughout the entire event and a live DJ. There was also a set up for a small cocktail making class if you signed up. Cointreau was such a great summer event. When they are in town we will let you know. Thanks Cointreau
