The sight of so much delicious food had our stomach dancing the entire evening. Restaurants like Negril, Artichoke Pizza, Shaking Crab, Pizza Secret, Dram Shop, Zula Wine & Spirits and Calexico with their mini tacos that were breathtaking. Drink sponsors included Two Roads Brewery, Breuckelen Distillery, Boxed Water and KeVita. Proceeds of $20 from each ticket sale goes to the participating charities of the attendees choice: PS 118, Brooklyn Pride, CHIPS, Brooklyn Dream Factory, MS 51, Fifth Avenue Committee, BAX, PS 39, Old Stone House, President Street Garden, Good Shepherd Services,Piper Theatre, Imani House, PS 124, PS 295. This was definitely an evening of dancing, eating and drinking from some of the best restaurants in Brooklyn. During the nights events there were a team of dancers with such awesome moves, all in alignment with each other dressed in matching outfits. Also an ensemble of all female drummers, and a youth chorus and Hot Club of Flatbush. These events had all attendees dancing or waving their hands from side to side. The DJ played a bunch of hits that everyone in the room serenaded along. Thank you Taste Of Fifth (Carol Klenfer) for such a wonderful evening. Looking forward to next year.
The 9th Annual Queens World Film Festival had an awesome ten day run, from March 21st-31st, 2019 and it was phenomenal. The line up of short films and documentaries were so thought provoking. The QWFF has something for everyone to see. Each year, we have had the pleasure to attend and we are always left with amazement. One thing for sure is that the Executive of QWFF, Katha and Dan Kato are truly committed to delivering great content and it shows every year. We watched as many films as possible during this ten day film festival and each and every one of them touched us in a some kind of way. There was one documentary that pulled on our heart strings the most, "The Quiet Storm" a documentary dedicated to The Ron Artest Story Producer Johnny Sweet, Colleen Dominguez and Omar Michaud. These producers had a message they wanted to get out to the world about Mental Health Awareness. They know that Ron Artest would be a great person to help touch millions of others with his adversities and coping with his mental health issues. While watching the film you would be touched just hearing him speak his truth and listening to others that knew him, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom and many others speaking on the impact he has had on them during his career in basketball. This documentary was picked up by showtime and will air Friday May 31st. It is a must see! Thanks Katha and Dan Kato, we cant wait to see what's in store next year!

International Beauty Show is one of the top trade beauty shows in the world. We had the pleasure of attending IBS in New York City at Jacob Javits Center on March 10th, 2019. We were fascinated by all things beauty, hair and makeup all in one giant room. There were makeup & hair tutorials, runway shows from some of the top leading brand professionals in the industry today. Entering the Javits Center the music was pumped and every booth was filled with attendees ready to be entertained, shop and get glamorous all at the same time. There were models walking the runways with hair extensions that told its own story. The barber competitions gave each barber that won the competition a reputation that stated "you got skills". Most of the vendors gave away loads of freebies and attendees were super excited. There were loads of students absorbing what whatever they could grasp on details of how to move forward on their journey into the hair and makeup industry. This year marked a milestone for IBS as they celebrated 100 yrs. Congrats to IBS and we look forward to another fabulous year!
We had the pleasure of attending Breukelen Rub Dinner Party at Fitz Carraldo Projects in Bushwick Brooklyn. This event was coordinated by Chef JD, owner of Breukelen Rub featuring Breukelen Rub Premium Spice Blends. This seven course dining experience was flawless and a fun-filled breath-taking evening. The evening immediately started out with a signature cocktail that stated "Hello and Welcome to Breukelen Rub's Dinner Party". As the evening progressed, each course was introduced by the Chef JD himself, giving us details on how each specialized dish is prepared with its very own spices created by Chef JD. Every course given was mouth watering and aligned with a signature cocktail, so picture perfect. Each guest was given their special very own spice rub to take home as a souvenir. This was a perfect networking event or a great date night idea. Vegetarian dinning options were also available. Thanks Breukelen Rub for a wonderful evening!

The Big Chocolate Show is the perfect name for this event! There was chocolate everywhere. This is our second year attending and each year we try to eat as much chocolate as possible. This years event was held at The New Yorker, A Wyndham Hotel in Herald Square. Each year brands from all over participate and showcase their specialty chocolate. There was Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate with Nuts, Chocolate Pretzels and more. Each class was filled with a bunch of excited chocolate lovers ready and eager to learn and taste. Speaking with Chef Simpson he informed us of how his two delicious dishes became about. He blessed us with the great flavors of his Jerk Escovitch Fish on a Taco with sauteed veggies and a lovely garnish. Chef Simpson's second treat was Pulled Jerk Chicken on a Taco with a savory sauce and a lemon twist, simply mouth watering. It was a true honor to attend the legacy celebration event of Ol' Dirty Bastard. This honor was well deserved and was given by his friends, family and loved one. True fans had the honor to remember his legacy through songs that resonated in the crowd. Wu Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Master Killah had the crowd singing to every beat of his lyrics. Young Dirty Bastard, a true image of his father had the crowd in an uproar with his hard and raw lyrics just like Ol Dirty Bastard. There were special performances by up and coming artists. Ol Dirty Bastards immediate family let everyone in attendance know how much they truly appreciated this joyous event and was honored. We would like to personally thank his family for allowing us to be there and celebrating with them.
Opening Night at PhovilleNYC was illuminating, despite the rainy weather. Everyone in attendance refused to let mother nature rain on our parade"literally". We were able to get a first hand look at over 60+ shipping containers filled with portraits of this years line up of amazing artistry. There were so much that stood out for us, it would take us all day to name them all. I was truly moved by "The Power Of Pink" The Las Fatos Project, which is a Lower Eastside Girls Club. The portraits that were taken gives you a true insight on how much girl power can truly inspire other woman. In this container, there was pink everywhere, it would make anyone smile. Another container that we have to mention is " The Project Show". This container was filled with celebrity portraits of themselves, being themselves. We had the pleasure of attending NYBG's 27th Annual Holiday Train Show Press Preview . We were super exited to see the enchanting model trains with 175 New York landmarks re-created with bark, leaves and a numerous amounts of natural materials, it was simply illuminating. Each replica was made to make you feel like you were actually right in front of the landmark itself. The glow, the details, everything was spot on. You will see replica's of Lower Manhattan, The Statue of Liberty, One World Trade and The Oculus, just to name a few. This tradition has been going on for 27 generations, created by Paul Busse. We were accompanied by Laura Busse, the daughter of Paul Busse whom was willing to answer any questions we may have. These model trains, trolleys and ferries will take you through nearly half a mile long track of iconic sites passing through NYC. You will see rustic bridges, fruits, seeds, waterfalls and streetcars. A true feel of what it's like to be a New Yorker. We noticed the details on some of the train that will blow you away. The inscriptions on the trains were so defined to detail when replicating the railroad companies and their cargo. The Holiday Train Show begins on November 17th - January 21st, 2019. You must also visit Bar Car Nights with some of the best mixologist and vendors including Bronx Night Market Holiday Pop-Up, live ice sculpting demos, singing, a cafe, a fire pit and much more starting November 17th . Thanks Gayle Snible and Billy Unotti for such a wonderful experience.
