CTH Annual Uptown Shakespeare in the Park

Beginning July 6-28th you can enjoy Shakespeare for free at Marcus Garvey Park. Shakespeare in the Park is bringing you fierce, bold and relevant with this years event in Harlem “The Bacchae” by Euripides. Dionysus, the god of wine, prophecy, religious ecstasy, and fertility, returns to his birthplace in Thebes in order to clear his mother’s name and to punish the insolent city state for refusing to allow people to worship him. Opening Night will be July 6th 2019 see more details below for event programming.

Enter the park at 124th Street & Fifth Avenue, and walk south to the venue.
