Each year at Brookfield Place has this annual design competition, This event is one of the most unique food charity competitions in the world, Canstruction. Canstruction challenges teams of architects, engineers, and contractors to build sculptures made entirely out of unopened cans of food. The large-scale structures are placed on display and later donated to City Harvest for distribution to those in need. In 2019, Canstruction is celebrating its 18th Anniversary and 12 amazing years at Brookfield Place New York.
Awards will be granted in the following categories: Best Original Design, Structural Ingenuity, Best Meal, Most Cans, Cheri C. Melillo Award, Best Use of Labels, Honorable Mention, and People’s Choice.
