Solstice is a convening from artist Jonathan Sims of eleven artists in celebration of the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and the first day of summer. Each of these artists has deeply engaged with light as a central component of their work, and this exhibition is a celebration of the sun, whose light makes all life possible on Earth. Artists in this show use a multitude of light sources, which are then reflected, refracted, gathered, captured, directed, shattered, lensed, and bent into new form.
