Revolution Of Hip Hop: In 1987, Rocky Bucano left his television career behind to launch the Bronx based Strong City Records with Hip Hop icon DJ Jazzy Jay. Currently Rocky Bucano is President and Chairman of the Board of the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Word on the street is Universal Hip Hop Museum will be the first of its kind and is in its early stages of renovations .
The Universal Hip Hop Museum, a $65 million dollar development project that will also include affordable housing for New Yorkers, commercial space for nonprofit organizations, educational community facilities, retail space along side the beautiful Harlem River waterfront across from Bronx Terminal Market. “Bronx Point” will be accessible for New Yorkers to have an opportunity to enjoy this beautiful luxurious waterfront.
On August 11, 2023, Universal Hip Hop Museum will be having an on site celebration which marks the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop legend KOOL HERC. Kool Herc set the stage for what was about to become a phenomenon of the future – block parties, break dancing, graffiti and most of the talked about rappers of all times. Kool Herc had no idea what was about to happen, all from his DJ set with a mix of old school and new school music. Kool Herc created a unique sound that kept his audience grooving with a packed house like never before. The Universal Hip Hop Museum highly anticipated grand opening will be August 11, 2024.
