Peter Yarrow:Queens College’s Lefrak Hall

by

Head to Queens College and enjoy an evening with legendary folk singer Peter Yarrow of the group Peter, Paul and Mary perform live at Queens College’s Lefrak Hall on April 13, 2019! The famed 60’s group Peter, Paul and Mary became synonymous with the counterculture movement. The trio sang at the 1963 March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech, and participated in the Selma to Montgomery March.

The group also sang at countless anti-Vietnam War rallies. During their career, the trio won five Grammy Awards, amassed six Top 10 hits and earned eight gold and five platinum albums. In concert, Yarrow sings many of the group’s classic hits, including “If I Had a Hammer,” “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Puff (The Magic Dragon),” “I Dig Rock and Roll Music” and “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” Yarrow’s music and songs resonate with a history that he and his musical compatriots,
Mary and Paul, not only helped to write, but one that has changed and inspired millions to continue to keep on keepin’ on, hold firm to principle, and not be deterred in the face of adversity. His performances create an environment in which a sense of reassuring commonality is shared at a time when society is deeply concerned for its welfare and its future.
