A Taste of Fifth, the giant annual food festival showcasing more than 40 Park Slope 5th Avenue’s restaurants and watering holes,organized by the Park Slope 5th Avenue Business Improvement District will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 6:30-9:30pmA Taste of Fifth features fine food and unlimited cocktails, beer and wine plus music, dancing and a chance to catch up with neighbors. Among the Fifth Avenue restaurants and bars taking part are new additions Dram Shop, Pizza Secret, Zula Wines (Amy Poehler’s place) and old favorites Bogota Latin Bistro, Negril BK and Bricolage.

The event takes over The Grand Prospect Hall’s Grand Ballroom as well as the Speakeasy, which will serve up complementary Breuckelen Distillery cocktails and a gypsy jazz group, the Hot Club of Flatbush. Spinning in the big room will be DJ Ace, a local cop at the 78th Precinct who works  full-time at Barclays and moonlights as an old school scratch DJ with 1.6 million Facebook views.  

 A Taste of Fifth also serves as an opportunity to support local Park Slope charities (listed below). Twenty dollars of every ticket purchased will go directly to one of 15 participating local not-for-profits, as selected by the ticket buyer.  Last year, the event raised more than $15,000 for participating charities.
